MY TOP 4 FAVOURITE CLEANSERS

Over the years I have battled with acne. And when there were no acne, I had to battle with my acne scars. Not only that, a friend by the name of hyperpigmentation just had to tag along. Frustrating? Oh yes, the struggle is definitely REAL. There are days where my skin would just be so inflamed and there are days where my skin would be soft and clean as a baby’s butt.

I know that good skin care begins by taking care of yourself from the inside which means eliminating food that could cause breakouts, drinking a lot of water, more intake of fruits and veges, and the list goes on.

However, I also believe that good skincare begins by using the right cleansers. Here, I would like to share my top 4 most favourite cleansers I’ve tried throughout the years.

1.CETAPHIL -Gentle skin cleanser

Believe it or not, my father actually introduced this cleanser to me. At that time, he was a salesman for pharmaceutical products. He would always bring different types of cleansers back home after work. He assured me that Cetaphil is one of the BEST cleansers out there especially for acne prone skin. I tried it and guess what? I LOVED IT.

The best thing about this product is that it’s very mild, has no fragrance, non irritating, and it is suitable for all types of skin whether you have dry skin/combination/acne/eczema. Yup, this cleanser is the bomb. Since Cetaphil is a well rounded cleanser and is suitable for ALL skin types, you can save money by purchasing this product as well.

2. DR. JART- Dermaclear Micro Foam Cleanser

This was my first ever Korean product that I’ve purchase in my life, HAHA. I never used to buy Korean products because I didn’t think it would work on my skin but I decided that I wanted to try something different. Since Korean products are so high on demand, why not get one right? So I searched online and checked all the reviews, it was one of the best cleansers for acne prone skin. I knew I had to purchase it. And guess what? I. LOVED. IT!

This cleanser has a scented smell to it but its not strong compared to other cleansers that I’ve tried. It is a gel type cleanser and when applied onto skin, it creates a foam like texture. The best thing about this product is that it does not leave your skin dry and it doesn’t strip away your natural oils. Non irritating and it is mild. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE.

You could get this product only in Sephora. This cleanser was a little bit pricey for me which was RM90 for 120ML. But I knew that if it was going to work on my skin then I don’t mind repurchasing it again. I ended up using this cleanser for two years until I switched to a different cleanser.

3. Matcha Hemp Cleanser by Krave Beauty

I was so keen on learning more on skin care and the different types of cleanser that could suit my skin. I came across Liah Yoo’s Youtube channel. I read a lot of reviews on this cleanser and I thought hmm, why not give it a try right? I went on to Shopee and I found this product. Ecstatic? yes! I was super excited.

After trying this cleanser, I was oh, so overjoyed. And yup, you guessed it. I WAS INLOVE, hahaha. One small dime size of this product on your finger could actually clean your whole face down until your neck.

The reason why its called Matcha is simply because this product is actually green just like green tea. The Matcha Hemp cleanser’s consistency is not thick and not creamy. It is a gel like cleanser which when applied onto skin, it gives a foamy texture.

This product is in fact suitable for ALL skin types. Super hydrating, mild and also non irritating for those who has problematic skin. 120ML for RM89. Pricey? Well yeah, a little bit. But in my opinion, why pay a product at a cheap price when you know it doesn’t do its job in fixing your skin? You might as well spend a little bit knowing that this product could actually fix your skin. Makes sense right?

4. COSRX- Low PH Good Morning Cleanser

I‘ve seen so many people rave about this product but I never thought of getting it. When my Matcha Hemp cleanser was running out, I just thought to myself that I needed a new cleanser but I didn’t want to repurchase the same cleanser. So I thought why not try other brands? Since I’m so hooked on Korean products now, I had to get another cleanser which was Korean related, haha.

Shopee was by far my best online shopping app during quarantine. Literally everything I wanted was in Shopee. I searched for the COSRX cleanser and to my surprise this cleanser is so cheap. 150ML for RM29? I was SHOOKETH. I immediately purchased it. haha!

The COSRX cleanser is a gel like texture and when it is applied onto the skin, it is quite foamy. It has a bit of a Tea tree scent and it is also very cooling. I love this product a lot which somehow is quite similar to the Dr. Jart cleanser, well, except for its price and also except for its tea tree scent.

This cleanser is definitely suitable for acne prone skin. And since my skin is more towards the oily and sensitive side, this product is definitely a WIN for me.

I hope this post could benefit a lot of people with sensitive/acne prone skin by getting the right product. Just to let you know that this was solely my own experience in getting the right cleansers that worked for my skin. I still battle with acne up until this day. But somehow over the years, I learned how to be patient with my skin and give a little bit of TLC every now and then. Everyone’s skin is different. Some might take a short amount of time to heal and some might take longer. Whatever it is, PLEASE DONT GIVE UP.

Till then, take care and be safe! :)
